Award winning author Layla Fiske was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Southern California. The daughter and granddaughter of immigrants, she was raised with the rich culture, language and foods of the Middle East. A graduate of San Diego State University, she completed a career in the field of land use management while raising two children. Now the grandmother of two, she lives in San Diego with her husband.
